I am a HUGE reader, so nailing down just four books is a bit hard for me.
Since I have already said that To Kill a Mockingbird is my favorite book a few times on this here blog, I will skip that one. Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice (really anything by her) is my next fave and I’ve also proclaimed my love for Harry Potter and Hunger Games, so I’ll bypass those as well.
The list could go on and on. My book choices, like my movie and music tastes, are completely varied.
What does that leave? Hmm….
Let’s go old school.
I’m going back more than a few years for all of these!
1) Anything by Lynne Reid Banks–I have most of her children’s books and I still re-read them for nostalgia’s sake every so often. My favorites are: The Indian in the Cupboard series, The Fairy Rebel, The Farthest Away Mountain, and I: Houdini.
2) The Egypt Game–You probably all know I am a Egpyt-addict by this point, so this book should come as no surprise. I wanted to start my own “game” as a kid. Ugh. My nerdy ways continue to this day!
3) The Wind in the Willows–My mom read this series to my brothers and I every night when we were little. Who can resist the adventures of Mole, Ratty, Toad and friends? Not me!
4) Chronicles of Narnia–Not just a childhood favorite but a favorite to this day. My favorite book in the series is Prince Caspian. I try to re-read all 7 books at least every year or two. C.S. Lewis is a literary genius.
There you have it, some of my childhood faves.
What books did you love as a kid?
