Girl Meets Bulgaria

Musings of an American expat in Bulgaria (with detours in Utah and Alaska)

Thankful for the Little Things

After yesterday’s whiny and negative post, I thought I’d let it go, move on, and share a few of the things that are making me smile since arriving back in Bulgaria.

I’m hoping to make this a regular series. I think taking a few moments to be thankful and show gratitude, even for the tiniest of things, can go a long ways to making each day more bright.

Here are just a few little things brightening up my life…

  1. Fall colors and a view of Vitosha
  2. Crystal clear blue skies
  3. Nesting. I can’t tell you how happy I am to finally have a place to ourselves where I can decorate, clean, cook, etc. I am rather keen on the new bedding we just bought–probably a bit girly, but my husband likes to indulge me.
  4. No. I’m not thankful for booze. I’m thankful for being back with the person I most want to share a drink with!

We’re off to Smolyan and Elhovets for the weekend. I’m really looking forward to taking in the scenery on the 4-hour drive, seeing my in-laws, eating yummy food, checking out the renovations to our country house, and just generally enjoying being back in Bulgaria with the hubs.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

W.
