*Re-post* Wordless Wednesday: Seward & Kenai Fjords 2008

** A re-post is the epitome of lazy, but since it’s still Wednesday for another hour, I figured a re-post of a past Wordless Wednesday was better than nothing! I picked this particular post – a trip to beautiful Seward and a Kenai Fjords cruise (where we saw tons of wildlife, including whales!) – because Vince and I are hoping to take a few days off this summer and head back down to this incredible part of Alaska.

SO looking forward to another summer filled with adventures!**

Wordless{ish} Wednesday: Bachkovo Monastery

*Linky below*

This post covers two trips to Bulgaria’s beautiful Bachkovo Monastery – the second largest monastery in the country. The first was a quick stop for Vince and I when we were on our way down to Smolyan in November – right at the height of the beautiful fall colors. The second was in December when my mom visited and we made a stop there on the way back to Sofia from Smolyan.

Like I said…doing a lot of blog post catch-up over the next few weeks!

Hope you enjoy the photos (there are a lot of them)!

Wordless(ish) Wednesday: Abandoned

During our March road trip, Vince and I saw this beautiful, huge abandoned house in Hisarya. I made him pull around–we were on a 1 way street–to let me out so that I could take some photos.

I found the side gate open and was so tempted to venture in. But I chickened out as thoughts of being thrown into a Bulgarian jail for trespassing flooded my mind.

I am still regretting it. Maybe one day we’ll visit again and I can poke around the place (and eat more of the amazing fig ice cream I enjoyed nearby).

Seems like it may have been a school at some point as there were lots of rusting slides and playground equipment scattered around the property.

It makes me sad to see such a grand house in complete disrepair.

On that note…

Happy WW!

W.

(No linkies for the next few weeks as I settle into my Alaska life and wait for some reliable(ish) internet. Sorry!)
